The Terrorist-side workhorse rifle and the most lethal rifle in CS2: a single headshot kills even through a helmet at any range. The trade-off is a steep, fast recoil pattern that takes practice to control.
The default Counter-Terrorist rifle. A 30-round magazine and a more forgiving spray than the AK make it strong in drawn-out fights, but it can't one-tap an armoured head.
The silenced M4. Lower recoil, hidden shot tracers and pinpoint first-shot accuracy, paid for with a 20-round magazine and limited reserve ammo.
The cheap T-side rifle for force-buys. Accurate and lethal enough to punish eco rounds, with a 35-round magazine, at the cost of a slower, floatier first shot than the AK.
The CT-side budget rifle. A cheap price and an optional burst-fire mode make it a strong force-buy that can swing a round against full-buy opponents.
A scoped CT rifle. The zoom and excellent accuracy reward holding long angles, making it a premium alternative to the M4 for defensive positions.
The Terrorist scoped rifle and AK counterpart. High damage and a zoom for long sightlines make it a favourite for aggressive T-side picks.
Snipers
The iconic bolt-action sniper. A single body shot below the head is almost always a kill, making it round-defining - its high price, slow re-chamber and crippled movement-while-scoped are its only real checks.
The Scout. A cheap, highly mobile sniper you can keep moving with and jump-shoot accurately; a body shot won't kill a healthy player, but the low price makes it a deadly eco-round pick.
A CT-side automatic sniper. Expensive and heavy, but its scoped full-auto fire can lock down a long angle when an AWP isn't available.
SMGs
A fast, cheap CT SMG. High mobility and fire rate plus a $600 kill reward make it the go-to anti-eco weapon for the Counter-Terrorist side.
The T-side run-and-gun SMG. Excellent mobility and accuracy while moving make it ideal for aggressive anti-eco pushes, with a $600 kill reward to snowball.
A balanced all-round SMG. Solid damage, controllable recoil and a healthy magazine make it reliable on force and anti-eco rounds for either side.
A high-damage SMG with strong armour penetration. Cheap and effective at mid range, it's a classic value pick that earns its keep on force-buys.
A 50-round bullet hose. Forgiving spray and high mobility make it beginner-friendly for anti-eco rounds, though it struggles at long range and costs more than other SMGs.
Pistols
The default T-side pistol. A 20-round magazine and an optional burst mode make it forgiving on the opening pistol round, though its low damage against armour rewards headshots.
The default silenced CT pistol. High accuracy and strong damage make it one of the best pistol-round and eco weapons in the game - two body shots or one head can kill.
The CT pistol alternative to the USP-S. A larger 13-round magazine trades the silencer for more uptime, suiting players who prefer volume over stealth.
The hand cannon. A headshot is a one-shot kill at any range, making the Deagle a high-skill eco pick that can out-trade rifles when you hit your shots.
A CT-side armour-piercing pistol. Excellent accuracy and a 20-round magazine make it one of the strongest force-buy pistols in the game.
The T-side aggressive pistol. A big magazine and a fast fire rate reward run-and-gun pushes on eco rounds.
A cheap armour-piercing pistol. Affordable and effective on eco rounds, it punches above its price against armoured opponents at close range.
A machine-pistol sidearm. A full-auto burst makes it lethal up close, balanced by a tiny 12-round magazine, a long reload and a reduced kill reward.
Akimbo pistols with 30 combined rounds. Cheap and fun, with high close-range volume, but poor accuracy and a slow reload keep them niche.
Heavys
A cheap pump shotgun. Devastating up close and a budget pick for holding tight angles, with a huge $900 kill reward - but harmless beyond short range.
A fully-automatic shotgun. Rapid close-range fire can shred multiple pushers in a doorway, making it a niche but lethal anchor weapon.
A CT-side pump shotgun with a $900 kill reward. Brutal in close quarters, it's a favourite for surprise anti-eco holds on the Counter-Terrorist side.
A 100-round light machine gun. Expensive and rarely bought, but its suppressive fire can lock down a chokepoint when you commit to it.
A heavy LMG that becomes pinpoint-accurate after a few rounds of spin-up. Cheap after its buffs, it's a chaotic but viable area-denial weapon.
